Ally Kendrick Clew

I’m a Derbyshire-based sculptor, making individual works in reclaimed metal and wood. My sculptures are inspired by the landscape around me that changes according to the play of light and shadow, season and weather and trees represent that, as landmarks.

Increasingly, the history of Derbyshire is also influencing my work, particularly how the scars we leave in the landscape are healed as nature reclaims them. I’m always exploring new techniques to enhance my work and am currently enjoying wood carving and experimenting with new techniques that add texture and form.
