Whilst I originally trained as a textile designer, I began experimenting with different mediums a few years ago and discovered pyrography. Burnt Cookies has brought together my love of surface pattern and nature through pyrography, the art of hand burning designs on to wood, which is a technique that I fell in love with (the name ‘Burnt Cookies’ comes from my initial use of wood cookies to experiment on). I use pyrography to create unique art and home wares featuring my own designs, inspired by the flora and fauna surrounding my High Peak home.
