Artist Statement

The term ‘Fabricator’ perfectly describes my work with fabrics /found materials to fabricate stories for my ‘little people’.
An upcycler and a people watcher; they began when I found some abandoned fence post wire and knew that I could convey movement.
I’m materials led; the objects I find, dictate what I create.
I use my 1930s sewing machine ‘Pearl the Singer’ wherever possible; like everything else I work with, it has its own history, and is a fitting partner.
As much as the emphasis is on upcycling, the most important thing is that they make people smile.
