Artist Statement

My pieces are thrown in stoneware and porcelain at my studio in Middleton-by-Wirksworth, where the golden colours of the land, stone and sky tend to seep into my glazing, along with the occasional splash of colour. Simple, elegant forms, functional and decorative, are inspired by things from a 1970s childhood – toy spaceships, industrial chimneys and lost civilisations – with a pared back, mid-century feel.
