Artist Statement

My approach to kiln-formed glass is driven by my wonder of its natural properties; solid while translucent, and hard whilst delicate. My creative process treads these qualities, with a focus on highlighting its natural shine. To do this I have spent years experimenting with texture and firing schedules, and I apply various specialist surface finishes, individually handmade elements and a sensitive colour palette.

Working from a thriving studio and gallery on the fabulous Wirksworth highstreet, I spend my days crafting truly dynamic feature works of art for the home or office, alongside an elegant range of home accessories which make perfect gifts as well as inviting individuals and group in to have a go at making their own in my popular workshops

Days End Reflections - a wall mounted artwork approx 30cm. Layers of hand cut glass, in glowing hues of golden amber, warm coral, silver and soft sky blue are kiln fused and designed to represent the shifting light, the quiet stillness and warmth of twilight.
Statement Necklace - approx 10cm finished on sterling silver chain. Hand cut layers of glass, including sparkling dichroic colours, are fused together at 800degrees centigrade before being reshaped and refired.

Pendant - approx 4cm on sterling silver chain. Simple wearable art, no two are the same as I create unique slabs of glass but layering multiple colours, firing it once before cutting into small pieces of jewellery, refining the shape and refiring.
