I began by creating and making a Paper Toy Theatre for a display in Derby and I haven’t really stopped. Different influences (e.g. Beardsley, Alice in Wonderland, Victorian Theatre, anthropomorphic animals and Dracula) grab my attention and take me into another dimension, a tiny paper world. I use different media and methods when designing my theatres, such as collage, gouache, watercolour or simple pen and ink but paper is my favourite! The Theatres are flatpack, printed professionally on 400gsm card. I also make deconstructed books, intriguing bunting and decorations with similar themes.
