Artist Statement

I trained as an architect and have always enjoyed sketching buildings and landscapes.  After moving to Cornwall a decade ago, I attended a printmaking course at Falmouth College of Art, and fell in love with intaglio etching and aquatint processes.  Since then, I have produced about 50 prints of places along the Cornish coast, and also in the Derbyshire Dales.  Having been a keen photographer for most of my life, I am particularly concerned with the composition of pictures, and often look for unusual viewpoints.  My aim is to capture the unique character of interesting places and landscapes.
