Work is wheel thrown and hand built, altered, and assembled using stoneware, porcelain and earthenware clays. Forms seek to utilise and respond to the malleability of these materials and embrace their responsiveness to extended and shorter wood firings. Functional work is fired in a cross draught anagama type kiln, for four days. Sculptural pieces are multi fired in anagama, earthenware wood fired gas and electric kilns. Sculptural work seeks to explore the language used to describe traditionally wheel thrown vessels and our relationships with those vessels within our daily lives. Referencing conversational gestures and interactions.
