Buird Pottery is hand thrown in small batches in Wirksworth, before being fired in an electric or wood fired kiln. Potters Graeme and Inga both grew up in Scotland, so the ancient Scottish word for table felt apt – it’s pronounced ‘boord’.
Our pots are made using Staffordshire stoneware clay which is hard-wearing and ideal for domestic ware. They can be washed in the dishwasher.
We also teach pottery through our courses, Parkwood Throwing Courses and we enjoy sharing our skills and providing opportunities for creativity.
We hope you enjoy using our pots as much as we enjoy making them.
