Corrina Rothwell

I’m a Nottingham-based painter. I work with acrylic and mixed media on canvas, paper and wooden panel. My work carves a path between abstract and figurative with figures silhouetted against painterly landscape-like backgrounds.Transferred images taken from my own photographs of buildings and elements of nature create a tension between the urban and rural, reflecting the industrial moorland environment of my childhood. The faceless, ambiguous figures invite the viewer to weave their own narratives about memory, identity, and connection to the environment.
