Artist Statement

Lattice Labyrinths are  mathematical art, patterns repeating like wallpaper designs. Each  is based on just two numbers (e.g. your birthday) and yet can be dazzlingly intricate. Applications have included giftwrap, fabric design, household tiling and a spectacular festival shade structure in Australian. I hope not only to sell products realised by myself and computer artist Mike Susko but also to meet graphic designers who can “Escherise” Lattice Labyrinths and architects who could  realise clients’ significant dates in pavings or tilings, the investigation of which would be an adventure in mathematical education. Oh, and buy the book(s)!

Shade Structure for an Australian festival, fabricated by Alchemy Decor; the sunlit pattern on the ground is especialy effective.
