I make no distinction between ‘Art’ and ‘Craft’. I’m fascinated by natural form and ways to depict that with forged steel. Just by undergoing the process of hot forged iron my mind alters the way I see certain shapes, sometimes deliberate but sometimes a happy accident. A scroll or a fern is just that but hammered and shaped can become something totally different. And something that looks one way galvanised or painted takes on a different aspect when left to rust.
