My art practice is centred on our connection to the natural world, how we respond to the landscape we inhabit. The paintings I have made are remembered incidences of everyday natural phenomena. I wish to reanimate the wild world we encounter with the colours of subjective human experience. My art practice encompasses oil painting, gouache and chalk drawings, pen drawings. Current paintings are an exploration of oil painting and colour.  They explore gestural and abstract painting contrasted with depictions of plants and birds I have come across wandering in the Derbyshire countryside.
