I paint mostly using oil paint on canvas but also use watercolour, acrylic and pastels. My paintings are usually based on realistic subjects but I like to experiment with colour, perspective and layout to add emotion and rhythm to the painting.
Inspirations, include Fauvism, Impressionism and artists such as Turner, Matisse and Derain.
I enjoy painting outdoors although I tend to add to and finish my work in my studio. When Covid enforced us to stay at home I took solace in my garden and have enjoyed many a happy hour pottering in it and transferring my thoughts and feelings onto canvas. I intend to exhibit work showing how plants and nature can brighten our lives.
