Giles Davies

I create magazine collage landscapes with the richness of photography from a distance; yet close up reveal a blend of many incongruous fragments of magazine print. My palette is a mix of cut and torn pieces, blended in a surreal and playful way, making the most of rich colour and inherent pattern and detail. Working in situ, and from photo reference in my studio, I create and sell original artwork; prints and cards. The medium is well suited to depicting mountains, rock and water and I find particular inspiration in the Peak District, and mountains and coasts of Wales.
