Artist Statement

I design and make jewellery in silver and gold, drawing inspiration from the urban textures and leafy details found in my home towns of Nottingham and York. Metal stamps and texturing methods are used to ‘draw’ on the surface of the silver, creating illustrative and tactile pieces of jewellery full of detail and pattern. I have developed the technique of using my stamps in combination with the process of keum boo, to create a unique look to my pieces. The oxidised black patinas and warm yellow 24ct gold details add colour and depth to the designs.
