Jo Polmear

My work is a reflection and reaction to the places I love, hidden corners of ancient woodlands, concealed rivers and ponds under tree canopies. I often work outside in a loose expressive with watercolours and charcoal, gaining much from being in nature and the elements.  I aim to record the colours, vegetation and changes to light as the seasons progress. I develop work in the studio with mixed media, watercolour, acrylics and oil to evoke the memory of these places and moments.
