Artist Statement

I draw my inspiration from my deep connection with nature and the ebb and flow of nature’s fruition. My workshop is adorned with natural forms, such as cones, seedpods, and coastal finds offered from the sea. These collections inform my ceramic work, and I then begin to create in clay. The pieces I make are never literal but semi abstracted in their shape, colour and surface texture. My forms are made by the press moulding, pinching and coiling techniques of clay fabrication. My work is stoneware fired and reflects a random freeness in both glaze colour and surface texture.
