Jonathan Abbott

I am a local glassmaker based in a glassblowing studio in the heart of the historic Lumsdale Valley near Matlock. I use traditional glassblowing techniques to produce bespoke, colourful and functional pieces of glass. Beginning with a furnace full of clear glass, I manipulate the raw materials to make a range of vessels, from tumblers, to terrariums, applying vibrant colours to create beautiful effects. Influenced by Scandinavian design I produce various vases, cups, bowls, decanters and other homeware; the fluidity and bespoke nature of handblown hot glass is reflected in each individual piece.
