Leanne Ball

As a Nottingham based ceramicist I naturally feel inspired by the lace heritage of the city. Drawn to the purity of porcelain I combine this delicate medium with the beautiful and delicate patterns of lace to produce a feminine collection of work with a textile like surface. My range includes a series of tealights, tea ware, plates, bowls and vases alongside a complimentary range of jewellery.  All items are handbuilt, the process allowing a piece to take its form based on the movement of the clay and the pattern of the lace.  I fire all pieces three times, using pastel toned glazes and gold lustre accents to enhance the porcelain surface and it’s natural translucency.
