My work explores elements of female experience and archetypes: Maiden, Mother and Crone. I take inspiration from universal and personal stories, using symbolic imagery from the natural world, a sense of women’s strength and ‘wild’ nature is never far away from the core of my work. I use acrylics and mixed media on art board, paper and salvaged wood. Recent paintings show collaged papers, letters, wallpaper, fragments from the clearance of my mother’s house after her passing, collecting remnants, transforming, reconfiguring them in the present. Printmaking, monotypes and limited-edition linocuts continue to progress alongside my paintings.
