Artist Statement

I design and produce hooked rag rugs and wall hangings utilising recycled and scrap fabric.

Having an English and Ukrainian heritage, my inspiration is drawn from geometry, stained glass and nature. I am passionate about colour and pattern and this is clearly evidenced within my work.

Although primarily a machine knitter, I love the portability of “hooking” as I am able to demonstrate my methods whilst exhibiting at shows.

Additionally, I love hearing the memories and stories that my customers tell me about and am happy that I am able to resurrect this craft on a contemporary basis.
