Oliver Lovley

Artist Statement

My paintings represent direct continuations of location drawings from sketchbooks. These images are observed in places like cafes, pubs and other public spaces. I work initially in pencil on paper, then in oil on board. Often a single figure will be an amalgamation of several as my subjects often don’t give me much time to draw them.
