Artist Statement

I have been exploring various methods of mark making and media over the last 10 years. I currently work in oils on board or plywood. My paintings represent a continuation of location drawings from my sketchbooks. These images are usually figures observed from places like cafes and pubs. Often a single figure will be an amalgamation of several – people sometimes don’t give me much time to draw them.

I am an artist living and working in Nottingham, England. Past exhibitions of my paintings include The National Portrait Gallery in London and the Djanogly Gallery at Nottingham Lakeside Centre.
