Artist Statement

I am a professional fine artist based in the historical town of Buxton. Through the use of vibrant colour, intricate pattern and detailed decoration, I explore and celebrate the richness of our architectural heritage. I believe that my background in design, a keen eye for detail and a love of travelling gives me a unique perspective on the built environment: bringing together architectural elements and decorative motifs with a rich colour palette. I have exhibited my work both in the UK and Europe, including at the Royal Institute of Painters in Watercolours Exhibition in London.

'Old Timer' Large Watercolour painting of the old door at Haddon Hall. I was drawn to the layers of history evident in the surface, the broken latches, the rusted bars and the texture in the wood.
