Paula Kemp

Artist Statement

My work explores the intersection of nature, the sky, the seasons and the landscape, evoking the viewer’s emotions, creating a connection or awakening a memory. Working predominantly with oil and cold wax, I explore the interplay between color, abstraction, and the natural world.

My creative process involves painting intuitively, deliberately veering away from the pursuit of perfection. Instead, I embrace the freedom of applying paint  in ways that evoke the shifting qualities of light and atmosphere. This freedom leads to unexpected discoveries and moments of clarity within the abstract.
