I am a painter whose main inspiration is the British landscape and how it is affected by human activity, seasonal change and associated light conditions..Working en plein air where possible my watercolour method is the traditional technique of overlaid washes working from light to dark over a detailed pencil outline, although in the later phases using heavily pigmentded paint to achieve density of colour where appropriate. I also paint still life, urban and industrial scenes as well as some more unusual narrative subjects.
