Artist Statement

I am a lampshade maker who specialises in hand-sewn gathered and pleated lampshades, crafted using rare antique and vintage fabrics. With a commitment to sustainability, each of my lampshades is thoughtfully created, repurposing luxurious saris, silks and trims into fabulous shades.

Trained in London, I now live in Wirksworth where I have my studio and spend my days sourcing gorgeous fabrics and hand-stitching the many layers behind each of my lampshades.

I often work with private clients and interior designers, to create unique pieces – accommodating a multitude of requests from frame shape to trim detailing, and everything in between!

Gathered vintage patola silk sari lampshades, in jewel colours of emerald green and turquoise. These fabulous, unique fabrics have ikat resit dye detailing, and metallic embroidered borders.

This fine, block printed silk fabric is traditional to the Jaipur region of India. Due to the hand-printed nature of the fabric, no two sections are identical - adding to the charm of this lampshade.
