Artist Statement

I was Born and Bred on a farm at Millers Green in Wirksworth in 1976.
At the age of 5 I declared “ When I grow up I am going to be an Artist”. I never changed my mind. I am self-taught and I paint what inspires me, be it the landscape, architecture, flora and fauna.
I work in Oils, Acrylics, Watercolours and pastels on canvas, board or paper. I am a fine art painter, my styles evolve from realist, technical, abstract or painterly. I want to capture a moment, a feeling, a fleeting happening, a memory or a fascinating detail.
