Artist Statement

I paint landscapes using mainly watercolour. I aim to retain a sense of place with recognisable elements. I look for unusual vistas, working outside and in the studio.

I am inspired by the Derbyshire Dales with its undulating shapes and ‘lived-in’ views where green wilder spaces meet the built environment. Trees and barns feature in multimedia artworks using drypoint and layering photographs. Looking at how we fit into this land seems never more important than now.
