Artist Statement

I paint landscapes using mainly watercolour. I aim to retain a sense of place with recognisable elements. I look for unusual vistas, working outside and in the studio.

I am inspired by the Derbyshire Dales with its undulating shapes and ‘lived-in’ views where green wilder spaces meet the built environment. Looking into areas of potential change: special trees, barns and woodlands feature in multimedia artworks using drypoint and layered images.
