Predating more widespread global concerns with regard to the adverse impact of the clothing and textiles sectors on the environment, Jane and Sirpa have continued to develop textile-led work driven by the application of more sustainable materials. With one of the most sustainable approaches being the creation of garments that may become ‘old favourites’, sufficiently durable to remain in use over time, this joint exhibition shows longevity of design as well as promoting ageless and enduring style. Emphasis will be on meaningful stories with references to land and seascapes, with natural elements across the seasons, as opposed to transient fashion.
