Stevie Mitchell – Inky Conditions

I am an artist and illustrator from Leeds, living and working in Derbyshire. I combine ink drawings with words; fragments of stories, monologues and verse. Under the collective title, INKY CONDITIONS, these ‘one-frame storyboards’ seek to amplify, elevate and celebrate the ordinary and everyday: gateways to and from grief; from love to loss and back home again. The dynamics of quickly-worked ink strokes and accidents are carefully carried through to the deliberately uniform and simple book-like finish of giclee printing – with their ‘parent’ drawings and selected monoprints often exhibited alongside.
