Artist Statement

My work is grounded in my lifelong obsession with collecting. I use found objects and collage to make intricate and dense dioramas and pictures. Cabinets of curiosity and shrines and reliquaries are a great source of inspiration and subjects range from mythology and the lives of saints to my love of Derbyshire well dressings.
These works each tell a story, but it is up to the viewer to decide what that story is. Each work is unique and unrepeatable, often containing hundreds of objects. Sometimes weeks pass before I find the right object or image, but then it all falls into place.
