Artist Statement

I create contemporary jewellery pieces using recycled silver, fair-mined gold and ethically-sourced gemstones.  My work is inspired by the local environment – its heritage and its nature. I coax the metal into fluid organic shapes using traditional techniques to create texture and depth. The Nottingham Lace collection, which includes pendants, bangles and rings uses vintage lace to capture its historic design in the silver. A new collection about to be launched at Easter comprises earrings inspired by the seed-pod. Accents of gold are achieved using the ancient Korean technique of ‘Keum Boo’ to capture the lightness and hidden strength of nature.

Glimmer Pendant: A silver pendant, crafted from recycled silver and 24ct gold foil. The intricate lace texture is delicately folded over a sterling silver chain, creating an enchanting draped effect. The pendant measures approximately 3 x 2 cm.
Honesty Drop Earrings: Part of the Lunaria collection. Inspired by the seedpod of the honesty flower, these earrings are created using fine silver metal clay and 24ct gold foil. The silver is layered to achieve a papery effect.

Silver Spinning Ring: A silver wide-band ring, textured with vintage lace. The ring features a tiny 9ct gold bead which is free to spin on fine silver wire around the ring.
