Artist Statement

I create contemporary jewellery using traditional silversmithing techniques. Strong eco-conscious values define the business. All jewellery is handmade using recycled silver, ethically sourced gemstones and, for my main collection, vintage lace.  This comprises one-of-a-kind pieces inspired by the lace-making heritage of Nottingham.  I imprint lace onto the surface of silver which is then forged into fluid organic shapes reflecting the movement of heavy lace.

More recent work is inspired by delicate seedheads and wild flowers collected in Derbyshire. By working with silver clay and 24ct gold, I try to capture the uniqueness and delicacy of foliage and flowers.

A silver pendant, crafted from fine silver metal clay and 24ct gold foil. The pendant features a tiny leaf from some spleenwort used to create a cast.
