Suzanne Ager

Inspired by UK conservation red listed birds Suzy’s work aims to convey character and sense of movement to engage the viewer in their story.  Hand drawn imagery forms the foundations for translation into textile outcomes, where embroidery and print are used to marry painterly expressive marks with intricate details.

Suzy prefers to work with natural materials and engage with a slow-textiles, hand-crafted ethos, focused on hand embroidery and hand guided machine embroidery techniques.  Colour palettes and composition are employed to cultivate a sense of calm.
