Artist Statement

My artwork is a mixture of traditional landscapes together with a more abstract view as seen in hedgerows, woodlands and other wild places. These interpretations are often derived from ideas and observations whilst out walking. As the seasons change our visual landscape changes, within my work I try to capture some of these fleeting glimpses and explore the overgrown and forgotten boundaries-windows into our past. Natural forms such as branches, shrubs and foliage begin to create their own unique shapes as rich colours created by light pass between their structures
