Each work I attempt feels like trying to decipher an image through gauzy fabric. The painting journeys toward me; we meet, and we either recognize one another or we do not. If not, I let the painting go. Sometimes, this decision is instant; other times, it takes weeks—but really, the gut always knows, and I have learned to trust that.
The paintings, in their own way, search for warmth and the sensation of growth—the joy of feeling unhampered, optimistic, and open. As if trying to touch the invisible.
I work primarily with pigment and linseed oil on board.
